Do you hve to use brackets to anchor screws in sheet rock for a light weight pole rod
l bought a pole rod for two panel drapes 90 in. long each - they are very
light weight - silk - the pole came with three brackets to mount on the
wall - each bracket has a place for two screws - it also came with these
anchors - do l drill them in the wall first - they are plastic (?) or
hammer in (?) - then put the screw in - l am just not sure how to get them
in the way - the anchors that is. Any advice is much appreciated!
Yes, you should put them in cause if you don't they can pull
right out and ruin the wall. First drill a hole in the wall the same size
as the anchor, push the anchor in the hole, screw the bracket into the
anchor, the screw expands so the anchor doesn't pull out...
Good Luck....
Some wall anchors have points on one end and a flange on the
other end. These can be tapped in with a hammer. Other wall anchors are
completely cylindrical. For these you should drill a hole slightly under
size and then tap in the anchor. Another type of anchor has a screw thread
on it. These you drill a small starter hole and then screw in the anchor.
Hope your type is one of these and this has been helpful.
I would use the anchors.. it is stronger than just screwng into
sheetrock.
drill the hole to the size anchor your have.. push the anchor in the hole,
drive screw through the bracket into the anchor.. pretty easy.
